Khushbu Sunder Got Viral:-
Rahul Gandhi’s remark on "Modi surname" created quite an uproar, and the Surat Court’s decision intensified the havoc in the World of politics. Although the man isn't in the mood to apologize, a new set of controversies have sparked up recently.
This time, it is BJP's very own, Khushbu Sundar, who is facing the backlash for a similar tweet she made "ages ago" on PM Modi and the “associated convictions with the surname!”
Khushbu Sundar, a former actress turned politician, posted a tweet on February 15, 2018. The Congress party had to dig deeper into the archives to find the tweet, and their hard work isn't going unnoticed by the netizens.
The tweet read, “Yahan Modi wahan Modi jahan dekho Modi… lekin yeh kya? Har Modi ke aage bhrashtachar surname laga hua hai…toh baat ko no samjho…Modi matlab brhashtachaar…let’s change the meaning of Modi to corruption…suits better…#Nirav #Lalit #Namo=corruption.”
Several top leaders from the Congress party have raised questions on whether the BJP will allow anyone to file a complaint against Khushbu Sundar.
Shashi Tharoor, a notable figure in the Congress party, retweeted her tweet with a statement, “ This has not aged well. But surely BJP MLAs won’t file suits against their own (recent) spokesperson?"
Similarly, Rajya Sabha MP Digvijay Singh remarked, “Will you also ask one of your disciples to file a case against Khusbu Sundar.”
Interestingly, a tweet posted 5 years back has become the new center of attraction. Sundar has gone a long way since the tweet in 2018, as she left the Congress party in 2020 and is an active member of the BJP.
Khushbu Sundar broke her silence on the matter and said the tweet was the “language of the leaders” back in the time. She also let the netizens know that she was asked to put the tweet by the Congress party out of their “desperation!”
Sundar, however, took a sarcastic jibe at the opposition. She said, “BTW I like to see how the Congress is putting me and @RahulGandhi on the same platform. I like the fact that I have earned enough name n respect to be at par with him, who claims to be the opp. Leader of the nation. Thank you, Congress. @INCIndia."
She was also firm in her stance to not "delete" the tweet. She even invited the opposition to take a look at her account, as she has "more such tweets."
Although Khushbu Sundar has shifted her allegiance recently to the BJP, her tweet is almost on the same track as that of RaGa's allegations against Mr. Modi and co. Whether she faces the same consequences or is left out of the controversy clean Will only be revealed with time. BJP's response to the criticism will also be noteworthy after the recent turmoil in Indian politics!
