A 24-year-old student from Andhra Pradesh lost his life tragically in a frozen waterfall of Kyrgyzstan

Dasari Chandu, a 21-year-old MBBS student from Andhra Pradesh, tragically died after getting trapped under a frozen waterfall during an outing with friends in Kyrgyzstan. Efforts are underway to repatriate his remains, as his family and community mourn this devastating loss.
Anakapalle, Andhra Pradesh (HT News Desk) - In one of the saddest incidents, Dasari Chandu, a 21-year-old Indian student studying in Kyrgyzstan, passed away after being trapped by a frozen waterfall on Monday. This unfortunate incident has made the family of Mr. Vijay, along with the Madugula village in Andhra Pradesh, to be in deep mourning.
It was reported that Chandu had just got through with his second-year exams and was hanging out with his four Andhra Pradesh friends when this terrible incident happened. He fell into an unpassable snow-drift at the waterfall, which caused his untimely death.
His parents, when they were informed by the Kyrgyzstan authorities of such sad news, have assumed the responsibility of repatriating their son's remains. They have roped in Minister of State for Home Affairs and Telangana BJP President G Kishan Reddy, who in turn is in an active dialogue with the officials in Kyrgyzstan to make the required arrangements.
"We have been in constant touch with Anakapalle MP B Venkata Sathyavathi who has informed us that the Minister Reddy spoke to the Indian embassy in Kyrgyzstan, requesting them to provide all possible assistance in bringing the body of our son back to India", Chandu's grieving parents said.
The year back, Dasari Bheem Raju's son, Chandu, had left to Kyrgyzstan to become a doctor and that was his dream.

This tragic case illustrates the dangers that Indian students face while studying abroad, it is a consciousness raising event. As per the parliament data presented by Foreign Minister Shri S Jaishankar, 403 Indian students have unfortunately lost their lives abroad since 2018 due to a variety of reasons like natural causes, accidents, and medical conditions.
"Indian embassies/high commissions abroad address Indian students' issues immediately," Jaishankar said, underlining the government’s willingness to look after and care for Indian students outside of the country.
Together with the Madugula village and Andhra Pradesh whole state, our efforts are in bringing back Chandu remains home as to provide comfort to his sorrowing family during this time of the deepest sadness.
