Aadujeevitham Dominates Kerala State Film Awards 2024, Prithviraj Named Best Actor

"Aadujeevitham - The Goat Life" triumphed at the 54th Kerala State Film Awards, with Prithviraj Sukumaran winning Best Actor for his role as Najeeb. The film also won Best Director and Best Popular Film, among other accolades.

The Malayalam survival drama "Aadujeevitham - The Goat Life" made a significant impact at the 54th Kerala State Film Awards, sweeping multiple categories including Best Actor, Best Director, and Best Popular Film. The film, directed by Blessy, recounts the harrowing true story of a Malayali immigrant, Najeeb, who is forced into slavery on a remote farm in Saudi Arabia.

Prithviraj Sukumaran, who played the protagonist Najeeb, received widespread acclaim for his dedication to the role, including a dramatic weight loss of 31 kilograms. This effort earned him the Best Actor award, marking his third win in this category after previous victories in 2006 and 2012. Sukumaran’s portrayal of Najeeb’s physical and emotional struggles resonated deeply with audiences and critics alike.

Other notable winners from "Aadujeevitham" include Blessy for Best Director, Sunil KS for Best Cinematography, Ranjith Ambady for Best Makeup, and the team of Resul Pookutty and Sarath Mohan for Best Sound Mixing. KR Gokul also received a special jury mention for his work on the film.

In a competitive field, "Kaathal - The Core," a 2023 film starring Mammootty, won the Best Film award. Directed by Jeo Baby, "Kaathal" explores the complex dynamics of a closeted gay man’s troubled marriage, set against the backdrop of a local election. The film was praised for its nuanced storytelling and strong performances.

This year’s Best Actress award was shared between Urvashi for her role in "Ullozhukku" and Beena R Chandran for "Thadavu." Other key awards went to Vidyadharan Master (Best Male Playback Singer) and Anne Amie (Best Female Playback Singer).
