The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has accused Tihar Jail authorities of hatching a conspiracy for the "slow death" of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal by denying him insulin and proper medical care, despite his diabetes.
Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) today alleged authorities in the Tihar jail of hatching a conspiracy to slowly bring an end to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, who currently has been detained in an alleged money laundering case.
At a press conference, the senior AAP leader Saurabh Bharadwaj expressed his concerns, explaining that the jail administration is responsible for Kejriwal's declining health because they are allegedly failing to provide insulin and medical consultations to the chief minister, who is already suffering from type-2 diabetes.
"I cannot stop from saying and that is the conspiracy for the slow the death of Kejriwal," Bhardwaj stated, pointing towards the chief ministers' blood sugar levels acritically inside the prison. At the same time, he indicted the Tihar administration, the BJP Government at the Centre and the Lt.Governor of Delhi for the so-called denial of insulin and proper medical care.
The accusations follow a day when a metropolitan magistrate court was to pass its order on the application filed by AAP seeking that the insulin and the consultation with Kejriwal's doctor be carried inside the jail premises.
Bhardwaj's accusation came somehow as a response to the investigation agency (ED) that the chief minister was purposely eating mangoes, aloo-poori and sugar in his tea to raise his sugar levels in order to ask for medical bail. On Thursday, Singhvi, Kejriwal's lawyer, denied the claims during the court hearings, where he asserted that the CM would not risk being paralyzed and thus getting bail.
"From the total 48 meals sent from home in those three days only thrice mangoes were there…" he told the court. And this is the fact that Kejriwal drank only sugar-free sweeteners in his tea.
Kejriwal, who was arrested last month for the Delhi excise policy case, has continuously affirmed that he has been having his meals as directed by his doctor.
Bhardwaj was accused a bigger secret plot where stated that "all in all, I think it was a conspiracy to finish Kejriwal off with his complete body damage, and after some 2-4 months when he comes out of the jail, he has to be treated of kidney, heart and other organs."
This has only gone on to fuel the political confrontation between the AAP and the BJP government at the Centre, which has been trading accusations of sinister designs against each other.
