The bullet-riddled body of Hilal Ahmad Bhat, a Territorial Army (TA) soldier abducted by militants, was found in Anantnag district, South Kashmir. Security forces, including the Indian Army and Jammu and Kashmir Police, launched a joint search operation following his abduction on Tuesday. Bhat was reported missing from the Shah area and was discovered in the Sanglan forest. He had been abducted along with another soldier, who managed to escape.

The body was recovered after an extensive overnight search. Security forces immediately transferred it to a local hospital for necessary medical procedures. Officials believe the militants executed Bhat shortly after his capture. The search for the militants responsible is ongoing, with security operations intensifying in the region.

This tragic event adds to a troubling pattern of abductions and killings of soldiers in Kashmir. The region has seen several similar incidents over the past eight years, primarily in the Shopian and Kulgam areas. In response, the Indian Army has heightened security measures, urging increased vigilance amid rising militant activity.

The abduction and killing of soldiers continue to fuel tensions in the valley, with security forces vowing to bring those responsible to justice.
