A US Secret Service agent on President Biden's security detail was robbed at gunpoint in Tustin, CA during Biden's recent fundraising visit, sparking a police investigation.
One of the agents of the US Secret Service who was guarding US President Joe Biden was attacked and relieved of his belongings by gunmen in Tustin, California on Saturday night, the police said.
The Tustin Police Department said officers responded to a robbery call around 9:36 pm in one of the districts of the city that is approximately 35 miles southeast of downtown Los Angeles. They got there only to realize that the victim was a Secret Service agent whose bag was stolen with the use of a gun.
“During the incident an officer (agent) involved shooting took place,” was the police statement, albeit not offering more information. The suspect or suspects escaped from the scene of the attack and their identities are unknown as of now.
Some of the agent’s belongings were found close by and besides, police are still searching for a 2004-2006 silver Infiniti FX35 or any similar car that was seen leaving the scene.
The robbery went down on the same night Joe was in Los Angeles for a fundraiser event that was estimated to have raked in about $30 million for his 2024 presidential campaign.
The Secret Service has not released any other information apart from acknowledging that one of their agents was involved in that incident. The agency is currently also carrying out an internal investigation in parallel to the Tustin Police Department investigation.

The naked robbery that happened jeers concern over security measures whenever the president is to travel. He was living in a rented house in Los Angeles when he was in town for fundraising.
