According to a Met official, Kolkata will remain "hot and sultry" and experience uncomfortable temperatures until at least Friday. The maximum temperature in Calcutta on Monday was 37.1 degrees Celsius, which is three degrees warmer than average. At 27.1 degrees, it was two degrees warmer than typical.

A meteorologist has forecasted that during the following few days, Calcutta's daytime highs will rise.

Wearing light-colored, breezy clothing is encouraged as part of the Metropolitan Police Department's warning about "prolonged heat exposure".

It's critical to recognize the warning indications of heat rash, heat stroke, and cramps. Among these symptoms are weakness, headache, nausea, shaking, convulsions, and vertigo.

Other recommendations for being healthy when exercising outside included taking regular rests and avoiding the sun for extended periods of time.

From April 1st to April 5th, 2024, hot and uncomfortable weather, sometimes known as a heat wave, is predicted for the regions in south Bengal. The primary cause of this is because dry westerly winds dominate the area.

The advisory indicates that daytime temperatures over the south Bengal regions would rise by two to four degrees Celsius during the next three days. The western parts of south Bengal should also expect a maximum temperature four to five degrees higher than usual from April 3 to 5.

It is probable that a heat wave may affect at least one location in the districts of Jhargram, Bankura, Purulia, West Burdwan, and West Midnapore in southeast Bengal.

According to a meteorologist, forty degrees or more of air temperature, with a maximum five degrees above average, is what is considered a heat wave.

The highest temperature in Kolkata is expected to be 35.4 degrees Celsius in April. Over the next few days, the highest point may reach 38 degrees.

According to a meteorological service official, there isn't enough moisture in the atmosphere to produce a thunderstorm, which would provide a momentary break from the current weather.

A meteorologist claims that thunderstorms are only possible when a system is over the Chhotanagpur plateau or the Bay of Bengal. Currently, neither of those circumstances is met.
