Jammu and Kashmir, July 9, 2023 – After a brief suspension due to adverse weather conditions, the much-awaited Amarnath Yatra has resumed after three days from Jammu and Kashmir’s Panjtarni, Sheshnag camps as per the reports.

Pilgrims from all over the country rejoiced as they were finally able to embark on their spiritual journey to the holy cave shrine of Amarnath.

The annual Amarnath Yatra is a significant pilgrimage for devotees of Lord Shiva. Every year, thousands of pilgrims undertake this arduous trek to seek blessings from the ice stalagmite, believed to represent the deity. However, this year’s pilgrimage faced a temporary setback due to inclement weather conditions.

Srinagar, July 9: The annual Amarnath Yatra resumed on Sunday afternoon on the Pahalgam route following an improvement in weather conditions, officials said. The Yatra on the other route, Baltal, is yet to resume.

Heavy rainfall and landslides had forced authorities to suspend the Yatra temporarily as a precautionary measure to ensure the safety of the pilgrims. The downpour had caused a surge in water levels in the rivers and streams along the route, making it unsafe for the pilgrims to proceed.

However, stringent safety measures have been put in place by the government and security forces to ensure smooth and secure conduct of the pilgrimage. Special teams have been deployed along the trekking routes to monitor the situation and provide assistance to the pilgrims.

Medical camps and emergency services have also been set up to cater to any health-related issues that may arise during the Yatra. The resumption of the Amarnath Yatra has brought joy not only to the pilgrims but also to the local economy, which heavily relies on the annual influx of visitors.
