In a bold stance against critics questioning the need for space programs and the associated expenditure, renowned businessman Anand Mahindra delivered a resounding defense of India's moon mission, Chandrayaan-3. Taking to Twitter, the Mahindra Group chairman schooled naysayers. He highlighted how venturing into space fills the nation with pride and inspires technological advancement.

"There will be many who will question why we're spending money on Chandrayaan-3 and, indeed, on the entire space program. Here is the answer," Mahindra declared. "When we reach for the stars, it fills us with pride in our technology and self-confidence as a nation. It inspires each of us to reach for the stars."

Mahindra defended ambitious space programs and said “reaching for the stars fills us with pride in our advancing technology.”

Accompanying his tweet was a captivating video showcasing a massive crowd gathered at the dedicated gallery near the space center in Andhra Pradesh, eagerly witnessing the launch of Chandrayaan-3. The gallery, set up by the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) adjacent to the main entrance of the Satish Dhawan Space Centre (SDSC), epitomized the nation's unwavering support for the mission.

While not aimed directly at any individual, Mahindra's comments were a robust response to the prevailing discourse that criticizes ambitious space programs, suggesting a focus on resolving Earth's existing problems instead.

Chandrayaan-3 aims for a historic moon landing.

Expressing his excitement before the launch, Mahindra quoted one of ISRO's mission posts, proclaiming, "At lift-off, it won't just be the rocket taking flight, it will be our spirits too... Go, Chandrayaan!"

Chandrayaan-3, the highly anticipated follow-up mission to Chandrayaan-2 of 2019, is set to embark on a month-long journey to achieve a soft landing on the Moon's surface on August 23. Should the mission succeed, India will become only the fourth nation in history, following the United States, the former Soviet Union, and China, to achieve this remarkable feat.

As the country's ambitious space program propels India's technological prowess to new heights, Anand Mahindra's unwavering support echoes the sentiments of a nation eager to explore the frontiers of science and embrace the limitless possibilities that lie beyond Earth's boundaries.
