An Army Court Martial has taken strict action against a soldier who was caught passing secret information to a Pakistani spy working at the High Commission for the Islamic Republic of Pakistan in the Indian national capital. The court martial, presided over by a lady officer, sentenced the soldier to 10 years and 10 months in jail.


The soldier provided a list of documents to the enemy spy agency, including the guard duty list of the formation where he was deployed and details of activities within his own formation. He also attempted to pass on information about the vehicles used by the formation, along with a list of vehicle movements during the Covid lockdown.
