The Indian Army,
in collaboration with the Jammu and Kashmir Police, successfully foiled an
infiltration attempt in the Poonch district. As darkness veiled the region,
vigilant troops stationed in the Degwar sector swiftly identified and engaged a
group of terrorists making a clandestine entry, resulting in a fierce
encounter.
Early Monday
morning, an ambush party from the army established contact with the
infiltrators in the Garhi battalion area, initiating a joint operation to
neutralize the threat. The courageous endeavor led to a swift and decisive
outcome, as one of the terrorists was promptly neutralized.
However, the
retrieval of the fallen terrorist's body is still pending, reinforcing the
army's commitment to securing the region.
The collaborative
operation underscored the seamless coordination between the Indian Army and the
J&K Police. The joint teams worked in tandem, bringing their expertise to
the forefront to counter the infiltration attempt.
A comprehensive
effort saw the first terrorist incapacitated instantaneously, while the second
assailant attempted to escape but was engaged and incapacitated near the LoC.
The operation remains ongoing as the forces maintain their relentless pursuit
of safety and stability.
Lt. Col. Suneel
Bartwal, the Public Relations Officer (Defence) based in Jammu, provided
insights into the operation's progress. "The swift and resolute action
taken by the combined Indian Army and J&K Police units resulted in thwarting
the infiltration bid," said Lt. Col. Bartwal.
The area has been
effectively cordoned off, and a sweeping search operation is currently underway
to ensure the complete elimination of any potential threats.
