Bajaj Auto launches the world's first CNG-powered motorcycle, Freedom 125, in India. Priced from Rs 95,000, it offers dual-fuel capability with a combined range of 330 km. The bike aims to reduce fuel costs and environmental impact for cost-conscious riders.
Bajaj Auto, the Freedom 125, is the world's first motorcycle that runs on Compressed Natural Gas. The bike's revolutionary feature was introduced today by Union Minister for Road Transport at a Pune event, along with Rajiv Bajaj, Managing Director of Bajaj Auto.
The Freedom 125, which is fitted with a primary CNG tank and an auxiliary petrol tank of 2 liters, is one of the dual-fuel capacities it has. Besides innovative design, manufacturers provide users with a total riding capacity of 330 kilometers, while the CNG tank's 200 km can be covered as the main source of fuel. The 125cc single-cylinder engine is capable of harnessing 9.5 PS maximum power and 9.7 Nm peak torque, either of a kind. CNG and petrol are used as power sources by the cubic meters trio without any curtailment of configurational flexibility.
Rajiv Bajaj outlined a different way of thinking by using a new model, "The Bajaj Freedom affords riders an opportunity to achieve milestones only if they keep in check their operational costs which are 50 % steeper tractor-trailer trips vis-a-vis ordinary petrol motorcycles.
The Freedom 125 has three variants - Drum, Drum LED, and Disc LED - all with prices in the range of Rs 95,000 - 1.10 lakh (ex-showroom, India). The states it will serve in the initial process are Maharashtra and Gujarat, then it will be available in the rest of the country.
Rakesh Sharma, who is appraising the innovative product line at Bajaj Auto Limited, revealed the ecological function of the bike, "Using our latest technology, the company is managing to solve the double problem of reduced fuel charges and minimized environmental pollution in private travel."
The two-wheeler includes modern-day amenities such as an LED headlamp, Bluetooth-connected LCD instrument cluster, and it is available in the following five colors: Ebony Black, Caribbean Blue, Cyber White, Racing Red, and Pewter Grey.
Part of the vision for this release is for Bajaj Auto to encompass the remaining 75% of customers who weight fuel efficiency as the most crucial factor in their purchase. The Freedom 125 model is an essential in terms of alternative fuel-based technology. It can even redefine the future of personal transport in India and beyond.
Should any customer show interest, they can buy the Freedom 125 at Bajaj's authorized outlets located in the city or else through the manufacturer's website which is the official one.
