In a significant
breakthrough against terrorism in the valley, the Bandipora Police, in
collaboration with 13 RR and 45Bn CRPF, successfully apprehended a terrorist
associate affiliated with Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) in a joint operation conducted
at Baharabad Hajin.
The operation
resulted in the recovery of two Chinese hand grenades, highlighting the
continued efforts of security forces to maintain peace and stability in the
region.
Acting on reliable
intelligence, the security forces meticulously planned and executed the
operation to nab the LeT associate, whose identity has not been disclosed at
this time. The individual's capture marks another blow to the nefarious
activities of the LeT, a banned terrorist organization known for its
involvement in numerous acts of violence and terror in Jammu and Kashmir.
During the
operation, the security personnel acted swiftly, ensuring the safe arrest of
the suspect. The recovery of two Chinese hand grenades further underscores the
grave threat posed by the presence of illegal arms and ammunition in the hands
of terrorist networks operating in the region.
The Bandipora
Police, in coordination with the relevant agencies, has promptly registered a
case under the Arms Act and the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UA(P)
Act), enabling a thorough investigation into the matter.
In a separate
incident, security forces operating in the Baramulla district achieved another
significant success by apprehending two militant associates linked to LeT.
Acting on
specific information regarding the movement of terrorists in Frestihar Kreeri
village, a Mobile Vehicle Checkpoint (MVCP) was established at the Frestihar
Waripora crossing.
The timely action
resulted in the successful arrest of the suspects, identified as Suhail Gulzar
of Frestihar Kreeri and Waseem Ahmad Pata of Hudipora Rafiabad.
The search of the
arrested individuals led to the discovery of two Chinese pistols, two
magazines, and 15 pistol rounds in their possession.
Both Suhail
Gulzar and Waseem Ahmad Pata, identified as militant associates of LeT, have
been taken into custody. A case has been registered against them under the Arms
Act and UA(P) Act, signaling a comprehensive investigation into their involvement
in terrorist activities.
The arrests of the LeT terrorist associate in Bandipora and the two militant associates in Baramulla serve as a testament to the continued vigilance and dedication of the security forces in their tireless efforts to thwart terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir.
