Jashimuddin Rahmani, leader of the Islamist Ansarullah Bangla Team, urged Mamata Banerjee to free West Bengal from Modi's rule in a viral video. He sought Pakistan and Afghanistan’s support for Kashmir and called on various Indian groups to fight for independence. Rahmani's provocative statements have raised regional tensions.

Jashimuddin Rahmani, leader of the Islamist group Ansarullah Bangla Team, recently called on West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee to declare the state's independence from Prime Minister Narendra Modi's rule. Rahmani, whose group is linked to al-Qaeda, made the provocative statement in a viral video following his release by Bangladesh's interim government.
Rahmani’s remarks, which surfaced from a hospital setting, also included appeals for support from Pakistan and Afghanistan to aid Jammu and Kashmir's "independence." He further issued warnings, claiming that Bangladesh would retaliate if threatened by India or its allies, vowing that the "flags of Tawhid" would one day fly over Delhi.
