By-Election Updates: BJP Announces Candidates for Tripura And West Bengal

In light of the upcoming by-elections in Tripura and West Bengal, the BJP officially announced the candidates for the forthcoming poll-bound Assembly seats in these two states on Tuesday.


The by-elections are scheduled for seven assembly seats in Uttar Pradesh, Tripura, Kerala, Jharkhand, West Bengal, and Uttarakhand. These by-polls are scheduled to occur on September 5th. The vote counting will take place three days later on September 8.

BJP announces candidates for Tripura & West Bengal assembly by-polls.

Taffajal Hossain has been nominated by the BJP to contest from Tripura's Boxanagar Vidhan Sabha constituency. In Tripura's Dhanpur constituency, the party has chosen Bindu Debnath to be its representative. 


For West Bengal's Dhupguri (SC) Assembly constituency, Tapasi Roy has been nominated as the BJP's candidate. The Dhupguri assembly constituency in West Bengal became vacant due to the unfortunate demise of the sitting assembly member, Bishnu Pada Ray.


In a press release issued by Arun Singh, the BJP's national general secretary and headquarters in-charge, the following nominations were announced "Tripura, Boxanagar: Taffajal Hossain. Tripura, Dhanpur: Bindu Debnath. West Bengal, Dhupguri (SC): Tapasi Roy."
