Canada- An Indian Student Died in a Road Accident

A 20-year-old Indian student was killed in Canada after being struck and dragged by a pickup truck as he crossed the road on a bicycle.   Despite the fact that the victim has not yet been identified by the police, Kartik Saini, according to the victim's cousin Parveen Saini, arrived in Canada from India in August 2021.   According to reports, Parveen Saini reported the news from Karnal, which is where Kartik's family resides in Haryana. The victim's family is currently hoping that Kartik's body will be transported to India soon for final rites.   Kartik was a student at Sheridan College, which is situated in the west of the Greater Toronto Area in Ontario, Canada, according to the report.   Kartik's untimely death has left our community heartbroken. Our deepest condolences go out to his family, friends, classmates, and professors, According to PTI, the college stated in an email on Friday.  

The fatal collision took place at the intersection of Yonge Street and St. Clair Avenue at about 4.30 p.m. on Wednesday.

The accident is being investigated, according to Toronto Police Service spokesperson Constable Laura Brabant. The decision regarding whether to file charges or not must first be made by the investigators, according to Brabant.   The constable further stated that this takes a lot of time and is not a rushed process. At the accident site, a temporary memorial has been erected. On November 30, a ride will be held in Kartik's memory "Advocacy For Respect For Cyclists."   At the intersection of Bloor Street and Spadina Avenue, Matt Cohen Park will host the condolence gathering. According to PTI, the ride will conclude with the placement of a ghost bike at the scene of the collision.
