Cargo ship docked to ISS:-
The Russian space organization, Roscosmos announced a sudden decrease in pressure in the Progress MS-21 cargo ship that is currently docked with the International Space Station (ISS). Though mission control personnel discovered the decrease in pressure inside its cooling systems of the spacecraft, Roscosmos stated that there is no danger for the astronauts. Sealing Off the Vessel

To deal with the abrupt loss of pressure caused by the unexpected loss of pressure, The Progress MS-21 was sealed off from the remainder part of ISS to stop contamination from occurring. The cause of the depressurization is being studied by both Russian as well as American experts.

Normal Conditions on the ISS

Even with the current investigation Roscosmos informed its customers that their temperature conditions and pressure aboard the ISS remain normal. There is no risk to the health or life of the crew members, who are reported to be in good health.

A Recent Glitch in the ISS

The mysterious loss of pressure in the Progress MS-21 marks the latest glitch that has affected the ageing ISS. In the month of December 2022, a leak of coolant was discovered on the Soyuz MS-22 spacecraft that was docked to the station. NASA has confirmed that their experts are helping the Russians in solving the latest problem.

No Other Issues Currently Being Tracked

According to NASA officials, they monitor every system on the ISS and no problems have been identified at the moment. The Soyuz craft is typically used for transporting crew members to as well as from ISS as well as Progress vessels transport equipment and other supplies.

Collaboration Despite Political Tensions

Despite the ongoing political tensions that exist between Russia as well as Russia and the United States, the two countries continue to work closely in the ISS. At present, there are seven crew members aboard the ISS comprised of three Americans and three Russians along with one Japanese. Cargo ship docked to ISS Cargo ship docked to ISS

Extended Mission for Some Crew Members

The problem with Soyuz MS-22 has led to the extension of the mission for three of the International Space Station crew members - Sergey Prokopyev and Dmitry Petelin of Russia and NASA's Frank Rubio. A substitute Soyuz vehicle is scheduled to be launched by Russia on February 20, 2023, which will allow the three astronauts to return to Earth.
