Cars, sneakers, sports memorabilia: A Canadian businessman’s $60m collection up for grabs

A $60M collection of rare cars, sneakers, and sports memorabilia owned by Canadian businessman Miles Nadal will be auctioned off by RM Sotheby's, including Ferraris, a record-setting Nike "Moon Shoe," and Michael Schumacher's racing suit.
High-end automobiles, branded footwear, and rare sports collectibles, including $60 million worth of sales, are planned to be auctioned in Toronto this Saturday. The “Dare to Dream” collection belongs to a Canadian entrepreneur and a generous patron, Miles Nadal.
Among the items include five vintage Ferraris with an estimated value of over $20 million with the 288 GTO, F40, F50, Enzo, and LaFerrari. Other features include a 2015 McLaren P1, which should be worth around $3. $6 million and a 2008 Bugatti Veyron which had earlier belonged to Simon Cowell.
Nadal’s sneaker collection is worth $2 million and has the Moon Shoes which were bid for $437,500 in 2019, making them the sneakers sold at an auction. It also includes Michael Jordan sneakers and sneakers in the Back to the Future movie series.
The sports memorabilia is a racing suit worn by the Formula One driver Michael Schumacher. The Spaniard explained that many of the pieces, previously displayed in a private museum in Toronto, will be sold as he intends to bring down the size of his collection and help those in need through charity.
He is 66 years old and has founded the advertising firm MDC Partners where he used to serve as the chief executive. He has described it as the set of “emotional assets” of items that he genuinely wants to accumulate in the last 25 years.
