The famous YouTuber, Elvish Yadav who is the 26-year-old winner of Bigg Boss OTT 2 has been put in another legal case. The Enforcement Directorate has filed a money laundering case against Yadav and some of his people under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act.

The basis of the ED case is the FIR and charge sheet which were filed last month by the district police station of Gautam Buddh Nagar (Noida). On the 17th of March, Yadav a suspect who used the venom of snakes as a party drug was arrested.

The ED is in the process of its investigation on the assumption that revenues from criminal activities are providing the funding for these parties. The interrogation of Yadav and his co-offenders will form an integral part of the investigation.

The initial FIR against Yadav was lodged under various provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, Wildlife Protection Act, and the Indian Penal Code. In September, five snake charmers were caught from a restaurant in Noida where nine snakes, including 5 cobras, and 20 ml of suspected snake venom were seized.

Yadav's entry to stardom was very fast following his winning of Bigg Boss OTT 2 the most-watched reality show. Yet, it is his alleged connection to the shadowy world of narcotics and illegal wildlife crimes that has done him no good.

As ED starts with its money laundering investigation, it seems like, the legal troubles of Mr. Yadav are merely the beginning. The case shows that the laws relating to drugs and wildlife crimes in the country need to be with stronger enforcement mechanisms.
