A woman’s chopped-up body was found in a suitcase in Chennai’s Thuraipakkam area, leading to the arrest of a nearby resident, Mani. The incident recalls the 2022 Shraddha Walkar murder case, where the victim was dismembered by her partner. Authorities are continuing their investigation into the gruesome crime.
In a shocking discovery, the dismembered body of a woman was found stuffed in a suitcase in Thuraipakkam, Chennai, on Thursday morning. The police were alerted after a resident noticed blood dripping from the suitcase and reported it. The incident took place around 9:30 AM, prompting an immediate investigation by Chennai Police.
The woman has been identified as Deepa, a resident of Madhavaram. Police have detained a man named Mani, who lives just 100 meters away from where the suitcase was found. Authorities have also recovered CCTV footage from the area to assist in the investigation.
The police responded quickly after receiving the report of the blood-stained suitcase. Mani, a suspect, was detained as his proximity to the location raised suspicions. The body has been sent for postmortem, and further investigations are underway.
This gruesome incident brings back memories of the Shraddha Walkar murder case in Delhi in 2022. Shraddha was allegedly murdered by her live-in partner, Aaftab Amin Poonawala, who dismembered her body and disposed of the parts across the city. Aaftab’s chilling crime shocked the nation, and this recent case in Chennai has similarly horrified the public.
