Kevin Watson, 42, was shot and killed in Chicago’s South Austin neighbourhood on Wednesday evening while broadcasting live on Facebook. The incident occurred around 6:14 p.m. in the 5000 block of West Madison Street, with the video quickly going viral and gaining more than 2.5 million views.

In the footage, Watson is seen sitting in the driver’s seat of his car, discussing what appears to be a parking dispute. Moments later, a man approaches the vehicle through the window. Watson raises his hands and steps out of the car before gunshots are heard.

The Chicago Police Department reported that Watson was shot in the chest and succumbed to his injuries. No arrests have been made, and the investigation remains ongoing. Authorities have not disclosed further details about the motive or the suspect.

The livestream captures Watson saying, “If they do come, come get me. We’ll move the car so they can get the space,” moments before the shooting. Following the gunfire, bystanders can be heard discussing the scene, with one warning not to touch anything because it is a crime scene.
