China warned the U.S. against using military force in Iran, responding to President Trump’s threat of strikes. Beijing urged de-escalation, citing concerns over sovereignty and regional stability. President Xi called for urgent diplomacy, offering China’s role in restoring peace amid the intensifying Iran-Israel conflict.

As tensions between Iran and Israel escalate dangerously, China has issued a strong warning against the use of military force, responding directly to U.S. President Donald Trump’s recent suggestion that American strikes on Iran are under consideration. Beijing called for de-escalation and emphasized respect for national sovereignty.

At a press briefing on Thursday, Chinese foreign ministry spokesperson Guo Jiakun said, “China opposes any act that infringes upon the sovereignty, security, and territorial integrity of other countries, and opposes the use or threat of use of force in international relations.” The remarks came shortly after Trump declared he had “run out of patience” with Iran, raising global fears of further military involvement in the Middle East.

President Xi Jinping had earlier expressed “deep worry” over Israel’s strikes on Iran and called for an “urgent de-escalation” during a summit in Kazakhstan. Xi urged all sides to act responsibly and halt actions that risk a broader regional conflict.

Guo further stated that China was ready to play a “constructive role” in stabilizing the region. “China calls on all relevant parties, especially those with significant influence over Israel, to take immediate steps to cool tensions and prevent the conflict from spreading,” he added, carefully avoiding direct reference to the United States or its allies.

The sharp exchange between Washington and Beijing comes amid the backdrop of increasing U.S. support for Israel and growing global anxiety about the widening Israel-Iran conflict, now entering its second week. While President Trump has not confirmed a decision on military action, his warning adds urgency to diplomatic efforts as nations scramble to prevent a broader war in the already volatile region.
