The Congress party has thrown down the gauntlet to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, daring the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader to select a sector for comparison between the performances of his Delhi government and the erstwhile Congress government in the national capital.

This challenge was thrown out by Congress national spokesperson Pawan Khera in response to Kejriwal's remarks about the state of government schools in Congress-ruled Chhattisgarh.

Hours after Arvind Kejriwal expressed his disappointment with the condition of government schools in Chhattisgarh, Pawan Khera took to the X social network (formerly known as Twitter) to respond.

Congress dares Arvind Kejriwal to compare the performance of his Delhi government with the former Congress government, amidst criticism of Chhattisgarh's government schools.

Khera urged Kejriwal to pick a sector of his choice, allowing a comprehensive comparison of the performance of the Delhi government led by Kejriwal and the previous Congress government in the national capital.

The Congress spokesperson further emphasized that rather than journeying to Raipur, Kejriwal should focus on the ground reality of Delhi, which, as per Khera, continues to deteriorate.

The verbal sparring between the two political parties, who are uneasy allies, is unfolding at a time when discussions are already underway regarding the allocation of Lok Sabha seats in Delhi for the upcoming parliamentary elections in 2024.

The capital city holds seven Lok Sabha seats, with the BJP having secured a clean sweep in both the 2014 and 2019 elections.

Both the Congress party and the AAP are key members of the I.N.D.I.A bloc, which comprises 26 opposition parties poised to challenge the ruling BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in the upcoming 2024 general elections.

The current exchange of challenges and criticisms highlights the increasing tensions between the Congress and AAP. This rivalry extends beyond a mere contest of words, encompassing complex discussions about electoral strategies, seat allocations, and alliances. As the political landscape continues to evolve, all eyes are now on how both parties will navigate these intricate dynamics leading up to the crucial 2024 elections.
