SGPC objects to 'Gadar-2' scene shot in gurdwara

Gadar 2:-

The shooting of a scene for the upcoming Sunny Deol starrer Gadar 2 at a gurdwara has sparked a strong objection from the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC).Gurcharan Singh Grewal, the General Secretary of the apex gurdwara body, expressed deep concern over the presence of the movie's hero and heroine engaged in an objectionable act within the gurdwara premises.

In a tweet, Grewal pointed out, "Amidst the shower of flower petals, it is distressing to witness Gatka Singhs, skilled practitioners of the Sikh martial art, performing around the actors."

Gurcharan Singh Grewal expressed his discontent, emphasizing that both Sunny Deol and the movie director should comprehend that a gurdwara is not an appropriate setting for filming such a scene.

The General Secretary of SGPC expressed strong disapproval, stating that the images or video clip being circulated are a source of shame for the Sikh community.

This controversy started with a video clip capturing a moment between  actor Sunny Deol and actress Ameesha Patel which was  circulating online. The clip showcases the duo standing side by side, their arms interlinked, as they gaze fondly at each other amidst the vibrant atmosphere of a gurdwara. The surroundings are enlivened by the spirited performances of Gatka experts, who skillfully demonstrate the traditional martial art form.

Sunny Deol, has also ventured into the realm of politics and currently serves as a Member of Parliament for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Known for his charismatic screen presence and memorable performances, Deol has captured the hearts of audiences across the nation. Beyond his acting prowess, his involvement in politics reflects a desire to contribute to the betterment of society and address the concerns of the people he represents.

Ameesha Patel, on the other hand, is an accomplished actress known for her versatility and striking beauty. With her captivating performances in films such as "Kaho Naa... Pyaar Hai" and "Gadar: Ek Prem Katha," she has left an indelible mark on the Indian film industry. Patel's presence in the gurdwara alongside Deol suggests a deep bond and shared camaraderie between the two, transcending their professional collaborations.

The video offers a glimpse into the intersection of art, spirituality, and cultural celebrations. The gurdwara, a place of worship for Sikhs, serves as a backdrop for the mesmerizing display of Gatka, a traditional martial art form that holds deep historical and cultural significance. Through their synchronized movements, the Gatka experts showcase the valor and skill of Sikh warriors while instilling a sense of pride and admiration in the onlookers.
