SC Woman in Usilampatti Village

Nine children at a panchayat union school in the village of Usilampatti have been skipping breakfast, prompting teachers and parents to worry about rising caste-based conflicts. The issue at hand is Muniya Selvi, a lady of the Scheduled Caste (SC) community who lives in the same hamlet as the school and who prepares the breakfasts as part of the school's participation in the Chief Minister's Breakfast Scheme.

In the ongoing conflict that began on August 25, two kids from the SC community and nine pupils from the Kambalathu Naicker, a backward-class group, are involved. Officials' words suggest that disparities in parenting styles are at the heart of this problem.

Kovilpatti RDO Jane Christy, along with rural development officials and the police department, have been working to find a solution. Despite the parents' best efforts, their children still weren't eating the meal Selvi had prepared for them.

Vilathikulam MLA GV Markandeyan and Minister of Social Welfare and Women's Empowerment Geetha Jeevan went to the school to talk to students and try to defuse the situation. They interviewed children, instructors, and Muniya Selvi, the kitchen staff separately. The minister told the media that the problem had its roots in private disagreements and that efforts were being made to find a peaceful solution.

The SC cook, Selvi, insisted that the kids were following their parents' orders and rejecting the food.

Local authorities are working hard to mediate the conflict and get the pupils back to their normal breakfast routine without any further caste-related tensions as the situation develops. This incident highlights the difficulties communities still confront in addressing long-standing societal problems.
