Cyclone Induces Floods, Floods Ravage India: Rajasthan and Assam Most Affected

Severe monsoon rains cause widespread flooding and damage across India. Rajasthan and Assam face critical situations, with flood alerts in Tonk and millions affected in Assam. Other states also grapple with heavy rainfall, landslides, and potential flash floods.
Some areas in India continue to suffer from flooding and rainfall occurrences as the monsoon progresses in various areas of the country. Rajasthan and Assam are two states which are badly affected and they are unable to handle the crisis.
Rajasthan has witnessed three days of consequent rain leading to severe erosion and the local administration has warned of floods in the Tonk district. Though, the situation in Tonk is quite bad as there are reports of floods like situation in the area.
On the same note, Assam is in a very bad state as the water of many rivers is above the danger level, flooding almost two hundred and forty thousand people. The current flood situation is still critical and there is no likelihood of its improvement in the nearest future.
Other states cannot escape the fury of natural calamities. The regional Meteorological office in Himachal Pradesh said there is moderate flash flood in some districts in the state and these are Kangra, Kullu, Kinnaur, Mandi, Sirmaur and Shimla within the next twenty four hours. It has already identified 64 cases of road closure due to the impacts of the rainfall event.
Karnataka has been placed on red alert after the IMD predicted more rains in the region. Realising this, the powers that be in Dakshina Kannada district have decided to close down all anganwadis, schools, and pre-university colleges on July 6. The state has also appealed to fishermen not to move to the sea due to high waves.
Landslide has happened in Nagaland and Uttarakhand and this is the new loss related to the weather. The IMD has also forecast that the western Uttar Pradesh will see heavy to very heavy rain on July 6 where the intensity of rain could be between 64.5 mm to 204.4 mm.

Because of the constant monsoon, rain authorities in the states are working to avoid the aftermath and people. Citizens are advised to follow the weather forecasts of their areas, and also follow the instructions given by the state governments.
