Delhi Government's Official Detained for Allegedly Raping Friend's Daughter

A senior Delhi government officials, who was booked for allegedly raping his deceased friend's minor daughter, has been detained by Delhi Police.

The accused identified as Premoday Khakha, the Deputy Director of Delhi Government's Women and Child Development department (DCW) allegedly raped his deceased friend's daughter, who is said to be a minor. 

As per reports, he has been continuously assaulting her over several months which resulted in her pregnancy.

Later, the wife of the accused fed the minor with abortion pills and urged her not to report. However, the wife has also been detained by the Delhi police.

Swati Maliwal, the DCW chief had issued notice against the official and asked for quick arrest of the official.

Both the official and the wife have been pressed with charges under the POCSO Act. Delhi Chief Minister, Arvind Kejriwal has issued orders for immediate suspension of the official and has asked Naresh Kumar, chief secretary to submit a complete report by 5 pm.
