Two Himanshu Bhau gang members were arrested after a shootout with Delhi Police in Narela. Wanted for a July 1 murder in Rohtak, they were wounded in the encounter. The killing was ordered by fugitive gangster Bhau in retaliation for a past family feud. Firearms and a stolen bike were recovered.

In a swift operation on Saturday morning, Delhi Police's Special Cell arrested two members of the Himanshu Bhau-led gang following a shootout in outer Delhi’s Narela area. The accused — Mohit Vashisht (25) and Bhumit Malik (21), both residents of Rohtak, Haryana — were wanted in a recent murder case and sustained bullet injuries during the encounter.
The two were apprehended based on intelligence received by the Special Cell’s Northern Range about their movement in the area. According to Deputy Commissioner of Police (Special Cell) Amit Kaushik, a trap was laid and the suspects were asked to surrender. However, instead of complying, they opened fire on the police team in an attempt to escape. The police returned fire in self-defence, wounding both men in the legs.
Police recovered a pistol, a revolver, four cartridges, and a stolen motorcycle from the scene. The injured suspects were admitted to a nearby government hospital and are currently undergoing treatment under custody.
The arrested individuals have significant criminal backgrounds — Vashisht has seven cases against him, while Malik is involved in six. They were wanted by the Haryana Police in connection with the July 1 murder of a man in Rohtak. The killing was reportedly carried out on the orders of Portugal-based fugitive gangster Himanshu Bhau as an act of revenge.

According to investigators, the murder was motivated by a longstanding rivalry. The victim, Anil, was allegedly targeted because his nephew, Ankit, had earlier killed Bhau’s cousin and uncle in 2022.
The case highlights the ongoing turf wars among Haryana-based gangs and the increasing reach of international fugitives directing operations from abroad.
