An F-16 intercepted a civilian plane that violated restricted airspace over Donald Trump’s Bedminster golf club. The aircraft was safely escorted out after a NORAD maneuver. This marks the fifth such incursion that day, prompting renewed calls for stricter adherence to flight restrictions during presidential visits.

A U.S. Air Force F-16 fighter jet intercepted a civilian aircraft on Saturday for breaching restricted airspace over Donald Trump’s golf club in Bedminster, New Jersey. The jet, deployed by the North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD), escorted the unauthorized plane safely out of the temporary flight restriction (TFR) zone.

Trump, who is spending the holiday weekend at the golf resort, was not affected by the incursion. According to NORAD, this was the fifth such unauthorized entry into restricted airspace on the same day, raising fresh concerns over repeated violations near areas where the former president is present.

The fighter jet reportedly performed a ‘headbutt’ maneuver — a standard NORAD tactic that involves flying in front of a violating aircraft to attract the pilot’s attention — before guiding the plane away. No threat was posed, and the matter is under routine review.

This incident follows a similar occurrence earlier in March when a civilian aircraft entered restricted skies over Trump’s Florida estate in West Palm Beach. At that time, NORAD jets deployed flares to alert the pilot, again without affecting Trump's movements or safety.

Officials emphasize that while none of the incursions have caused harm, the frequency of such breaches is troubling. NORAD has reiterated the importance of pilots checking for NOTAMs (Notices to Air Missions) and abiding by TFR protocols, especially when presidential-level security is in place.

Gen. Gregory Guillot, NORAD’s commander, urged civilian aviators to remain vigilant, stating that compliance with airspace restrictions is crucial for flight safety and national security.

Despite increased airspace patrols, NORAD continues to face challenges in preventing inadvertent intrusions.
