Florida crash driver Harjinder Singh faces homicide charges, deportation after fatal wreck

Harjinder Singh, who entered the U.S. illegally in 2018, faces vehicular homicide charges after a fatal Florida truck crash killed three people. Authorities said Singh drove recklessly, causing the accident. He remains in custody and will be deported once state charges are resolved, sparking widespread anger over immigration loopholes.

A devastating truck accident in Florida’s St. Lucie County on August 12 left three people dead, with authorities identifying the driver as Harjinder Singh. According to the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles (FLHSMV), Singh was driving recklessly when he attempted a U-turn in an unauthorized area, colliding with a minivan carrying the victims.

Investigators revealed that Singh had entered the United States illegally through the Mexico border in 2018 before obtaining a Commercial Driver’s License in California. State troopers have since secured a criminal arrest warrant against him, and Singh now faces vehicular homicide charges along with immigration violations. Officials confirmed that he will be deported once legal proceedings conclude.

Dave Krener, executive director of FLHSMV, condemned Singh’s actions, calling them “shocking and criminal.” He emphasized that Singh’s reckless driving destroyed lives and left families devastated. Authorities pledged to hold him accountable under state law before transferring him to federal custody for deportation.

The case has triggered heated reactions on social media, with many expressing outrage over Singh’s illegal entry into the U.S. and his ability to obtain a commercial license despite his status. Critics also questioned regulatory lapses, with some calling for stricter immigration enforcement and accountability from California authorities.
