G20 Summit: Shops And Commercial Establishments To Remain Closed From September 8-10 In Delhi

In wake of the G20 Summit in Delhi, the Office of Labour Commissioner, Delhi Government on Tuesday issued a notice stating that all shops, commercial and business establishments will remain closed in the national capital.

The G20 Summit, a gathering of world leaders, is scheduled to take place on  September 9-10 at the modern Bharat Mandapam Convention Centre in Pragati Maidan. India, which undertook the G20 Presidency on December 1 the previous year, is taking on the role of host for this significant event.

As Delhi Police implements comprehensive security measures throughout the city, the government has taken additional steps to guarantee the summit's success. 

‘’All shops, commercial enterprises, and businesses within the New Delhi district remain closed from September 8th to 10th, said the Labour Commissioner in its notification. 

Furthermore, employees and workers are entitled to paid leave during this period in acknowledgment of the G20 Summit.

The G-20 summit for 2023 is scheduled to be held in Delhi from 08/09/2023 to 10/09/2023, and it will witness the participation of various Heads of States, Heads of Governments, including EU representatives, and Heads of International Organizations."
