Tragic Passenger Bus Accident on Gangotri National Highway




On Sunday evening, as reported by Uttarakhand Police, a tragic Passenger Bus accident occurred at Gangotri National Highway, near Gangnani, Uttarkashi. 


A passenger bus accident took place as the bus heading toward Gangotri in Uttarkashi had a mishap close to Gangnani along the Gangotri National Highway. The vehicle was believed to have carried approximately 32-33 individuals. Initially, 27 injured passengers had been safely retrieved and transported to the hospital. The District Magistrate (DM) and Superintendent of Police (SP) for Uttarkashi were immediately at the scene, as reported by the Uttarakhand Police.

On Sunday evening a tragic bus accident occurred on Gangotri National Highway.

In response to the incident, Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami instructed Additional Chief Secretary Radha Raturi to ensure arrangements for proper medical care to the injured in the bus accident in Gangotri. Premchand Aggarwal, minister incharge of Uttarkashi district was also asked by the Chief Minister to oversee the situation. 


The passenger bus met with an accident on Gangotri National Highway, near Gangnani resulting in the unfortunate loss of seven lives. The bus carried approximately 35 individuals, including 33 passengers. A total of 27 injured individuals have been successfully evacuated and transported to the hospital. Gaurav Kumar, Chief Development Officer (CDO) of Uttarkashi and is responsible for the Disaster Control Room, reported that the District Magistrate (DM) and Superintendent of Police (SP) for Uttarkashi were present at the scene.

Gujarat CM Bhupendra Patel expressed his grief on the tragic incident in which pilgrims of Gujarat were involved. He expressed his condolences to the families of the deceased. He stated that the government of Gujarat is in constant touch with the Government of Uttarakhand regarding the accident. The CM prayed for the speedy recovery of the injured.
