Gangster who fired outside Salman Khan's house is identified as 'gunman'

NEW DELHI, APRIL 15: Early on Sunday, shots were fired outside the residence of Bollywood star Salman Khan in Mumbai, with one of the shooters identified as Vishal Rahul, a known criminal from Haryana's Gurugram.

As per a report by India Today, Rahul is associated with the Lawrence Bishnoi gang through gangster Rohit Godara.

The incident, which took place around 4:51 am outside Galaxy Apartments, involved two individuals on motorcycles who fired four rounds and then fled the scene. Salman Khan was confirmed to be at home during the attack. In response, security measures have been significantly strengthened around his residence.

Shortly after the shooting, Anmol Bishnoi, brother of jailed gang leader Lawrence Bishnoi, claimed responsibility via a social media post, calling the attack merely a "trailer."

India Today further reports that Vishal Rahul has been implicated in multiple violent crimes, including killings and robberies in Haryana, with over five criminal cases registered against him in Gurugram and Delhi.

He was also recently involved in the murder of a bookie in Rohtak, an incident that was captured on CCTV and tragically resulted in the shooting of the bookie's mother.

A further criminal act attributed to Rahul was a murder at a dhaba in Rohtak on February 29. Following the recent shooting incident, Delhi Police's Special Cell, along with the Crime Branch and other investigative teams, have launched an extensive investigation, which included a raid on Rahul's house in Gurugram.

The Haryana Police are also involved, given Rahul's connections to the state.

This attack follows multiple threats made against Salman Khan by Lawrence Bishnoi and another gangster, Goldie Brar, who have previously expressed intentions to harm the actor.

The Mumbai Police had already escalated security measures following online threats received by Khan in the past year.
