Until now, 214,814 workers from the tech field have been laidoff in 2022 and 2023 combined. Out of this number, 55,863 layoffs have occurred in January 2023 itself. Gautam Adani called the development of ChatGPT a “transformational moment in the democratization of AI given its astounding capabilities as well as comical failures”. ChatGPT is a software with versatile capabilities ranging from cracking jokes to writing technical content.
