In response
to the ongoing extreme heat wave that has gripped Bihar and Jharkhand, the
Patna District Magistrate has announced the imposition of restrictions on all
academic activities from June 12 to June 18 for students up to class 12.
The decision
aims to prioritize the well-being and safety of students in the face of
scorching temperatures. The School Education and Literacy Department of the
Jharkhand Government, on the other hand, has ordered the closure of all schools
in the state until June 14, considering the prevailing heat wave conditions.
The measures
are being implemented to ensure the protection of students from potential
health risks associated with extreme temperatures.
The decision
to suspend academic activities in Patna until June 18 was taken as a
precautionary measure to mitigate any adverse effects that students may face
due to the extreme weather conditions.
In addition
to the academic restrictions, the Patna DM has urged schools to adopt measures
to keep their premises cool and to ensure the availability of safe drinking
water.
The district
administration will closely monitor the implementation of these directives to
ensure the well-being of students.
Acknowledging
the severity of the heat wave, the School Education and Literacy Department of
the Jharkhand Government also instructed all educational institutions in the
state to remain closed until June 14. The department is working closely with
meteorological authorities to assess the situation and make further decisions
based on the weather conditions.
Local
authorities are advising residents, especially children and the elderly, to
stay hydrated, avoid direct sunlight during peak hours, and take necessary
precautions to prevent heat-related illnesses.
They have
also established helplines and medical centers to assist in case of emergencies
or health issues arising from the heat wave. The decision to restrict academic
activities and close schools temporarily highlights the government’s commitment
to prioritizing the safety and well-being of students.
Authorities
are closely monitoring the situation and will review the restrictions as the
weather conditions improve. As the heat wave continues to affect Bihar and
Jharkhand, citizens must remain vigilant and adhere to safety guidelines
provided by the authorities.
By taking necessary precautions, individuals can minimize the risks associated with the prevailing extreme heat wave and safeguard their health and well-being.
