The Amarnath Yatra, a Hindu pilgrimage to the Amarnath cave shrine in the Himalayas, will be held from June 30 to August 31, 2023. The pilgrimage is famous, with thousands of pilgrims from India and abroad undertaking the journey every year.
To ensure the safety of the pilgrims, the government has put in place a three-tier security arrangement.
The J&K Police will be responsible for the first layer of security, which will include the deployment of personnel at all crucial locations along the pilgrimage route. The CRPF will be responsible for the second layer of protection, which will consist of the deployment of personnel at all vital places in the Amarnath Valley. The Army will be responsible for the third layer of security, including deploying personnel at all critical heights in the Amarnath Valley.
The security forces will be deployed along the entire route of the pilgrimage, and they will also be using hi-tech surveillance equipment, such as drones and CCTV cameras, to keep a close watch on the pilgrims.
In addition to the security arrangements, the government has also taken steps to ensure the smooth conduct of the pilgrimage. These steps include providing adequate medical facilities, setting up control rooms, and deploying traffic police to manage the flow of pilgrims.
The government has appealed to the pilgrims to cooperate with the security Forces and follow the authorities' instructions. The government has also assured the pilgrims that they will be provided with all the necessary facilities and that their safety will be ensured.
The government has made elaborate arrangements for the safety and security of the pilgrims. The security forces will also conduct regular anti-terror drills and exercises to ensure the pilgrims are safe.
