Sharma scored at the top with 65 from 45 balls. Varma and Kishan hit 41 and 31 respectively. Previously, half-centuries had been hit by Axar Patel and David Warner. MI successfully restricted DC to 172 all out in 19.4 overs with the stupendous three-wicket hauls of Piyush Chawla and Jason Behrendorff. Warner and Axar clinched 51 off 47 balls and 54 off 24 balls respectively.

The death overs saw an exceptional performance from MI as they picked the final five batters in 10 balls.

Delhi's start was a decent one with 33 runs in Warner and Shaw's partnership. Delhi's side weakened due to few contributions from batsmen other than Warner, who stood rock solid even during Piyush's magic. The disappointing performances of its players coupled with facing veteran and MIs ace in the hole Piyush Chawla.

Riley Meredith took two wickets from MI, while Hriteek Shokeen was also successful in attaching a feather to his crown.

Mumbai has been the IPL champion five times and this win against DC was no surprise. DC hasn't yet registered a victory in its chart in this campaign, being the only team. DC suffered their fourth straight loss.

Piyush Chawla was attributed as the best bowler in the innings as he clinched 3 wickets in just 22 runs. The Rovman Powell Square in front of the stump went hard for DC as Piyush found it following a pickup against Manish Pandey.
