A wealthy Gujarati Jain couple donated over ₹200 crore to become monks. They are currently getting ready to set off on a mission to discover freedom. In a February ceremony, Bhavesh Bhandari and his wife divided their entire fortune. They will formally pledge to a life of renunciation later this month, and that will be followed soon after.
Following in the footsteps of his 19-year-old daughters and 16-year-old son, the Himmatnagar businessman, who worked in the construction sector, decided to become a monk in 2022. According to the group, Bhavesh and his spouse were motivated to "renounce their material attachments and join the ascetic path" by their children.
They are prohibited from communicating with their family members and from owning any "materialistic objects" after taking the vows on April 22. After that, they will travel all throughout India sans shoes and survive only off donations to charities.
All that is permitted for them are two white clothes, a bowl for alms, a "rajoharan," a white broom that Jain monks use to sweep an area before sitting, and other items. This embodies their lifestyle of nonviolence and commitment to it.

The famously wealthy Bhandari family's move has piqued the interest of people from all over the state. They join a select group of people that, despite declining billions of dollars, choose to live a life of moderation, including Bhavaralal Jain. Bhavaralal Jain was the first Indian to devise a micro-irrigation technique.
The Bhandari couple and thirty-five others embarked on a four-kilometer march during which they gave up everything, including their phones and air conditioners. The two are seen in the procession clip sitting on a chariot and dressed in royal regalia.
