Delhi is expected to see partly cloudy sky today with sporadic strong gusts, according to the Regional Meteorological Centre. Twenty degrees Celsius was the lowest recorded temperature, and thirty-five degrees was the highest.

"Partly cloudy sky, gusty winds (speed 30-40 kmph) likely to prevail in the city," the notification stated.

The meteorological agency reports that although the city has been experiencing rising temperatures over the past few days, April may bring even hotter weather to Delhi.

Yesterday was the hottest temperature the city had recorded for the season, at 35.2 degrees Celsius, three degrees above average.

With a high temperature of 37.8 degrees Celsius on Friday, it was the warmest day of the year in Delhi. The city frequently encounters five degrees below this. The temperature hit a record-breaking 37 degrees Celsius on Wednesday.

A significant portion of the south peninsula of India may expect a two to three degree Celsius increase in maximum temperatures over the course of the next five days, according to the most recent warning from the India Meteorological Department.
