Footage released by the IDF shows Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar in an underground tunnel just hours before the October 7, 2023, attacks on Israel. Sinwar, later killed by Israeli forces, was accused of hiding beneath civilians while orchestrating the terrorist attacks.

Newly released footage from the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) reveals Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar in an underground tunnel just hours before the October 7, 2023, attacks on Israel. Sinwar, described as the mastermind behind the terrorist attacks, was killed earlier this week by Israeli soldiers in Rafah, Gaza.
The video, over three minutes long, shows a man believed to be Sinwar, walking with his family, including children, and carrying supplies into a bunker. According to the IDF’s International Spokesperson, Lieutenant Colonel Nadav Shoshani, the footage captured Sinwar as he prepared for the attacks while hiding beneath civilians.
The IDF criticized Hamas leaders, accusing them of using Gaza residents as human shields while securing their own safety. Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari emphasized that Sinwar's presence in the tunnel, along with large sums of money, proves Hamas leaders prioritize their survival over the welfare of Gaza's civilians.
