Floods and landslides in Himachal Pradesh have claimed 75 lives, with 31 still missing. Relief operations in Mandi face severe terrain challenges as SDRF, NDRF, and ITBP teams work tirelessly. Over ₹541 crore in damages has been reported. The state government has ordered urgent, ongoing relief and rehabilitation during the monsoon.

The death toll from the ongoing monsoon devastation in Himachal Pradesh has reached 75, as rescue operations intensify in the severely affected Mandi district. With persistent rains, landslides, cloudbursts, and flash floods continuing to batter the hill state, 31 people remain missing, prompting massive search efforts by state and central forces.
Deputy Commissioner of Mandi, Apoorv Devgan, highlighted the logistical challenges posed by the region's difficult terrain. Relief teams are deploying mules and motorable vehicles to reach remote areas, with key roads like the one in Thunag only recently becoming accessible. Around 250 personnel from the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) and National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) are currently engaged in round-the-clock rescue operations.
Emergency teams have been distributing food, medical kits, and essential supplies in affected villages. In Panchayat Jarode, SDRF personnel assessed medical needs and offered on-site treatment to residents. The Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) has also joined relief efforts, working closely with the NDRF and local administration to clear debris, rescue stranded individuals, and aid displaced families.
Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu has instructed authorities to carry out relief and rescue operations on a war footing, assuring full government support to ensure aid reaches all corners of the disaster zone.
According to data from the State Emergency Operations Centre (SEOC), the state has recorded 45 rain-related deaths and 30 accidental fatalities from June 20 to July 4, 2025. Additionally, 288 people have been injured, and the estimated damage to public and private property stands at ₹541.09 crore.
