Expressing his views on the matter, Barq emphasized the Quran's divine origin, stating, "There is no greater book in the world than the Quran. It is not written by us or the people of the country but by Allah himself. Therefore, it should find a place in NCERT." The ongoing debate stems from a recommendation made by a seven-member NCERT committee formed last year. This committee proposed including epics such as the Ramayana and the Mahabharata in social sciences textbooks, alongside inscribing the Preamble of the Constitution on classroom walls.
