Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei condemned Israel’s “short-sighted” actions following reports of Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah’s death in an Israeli airstrike. While not confirming Nasrallah’s death, Khamenei promised Hezbollah would emerge stronger, criticizing Israel’s aggression and warning of continued support for regional resistance forces.

Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has condemned Israel's actions following airstrikes in Lebanon that reportedly killed Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah. In his first public reaction, Khamenei criticized Israel’s “short-sighted” and “stupid” policy but did not directly confirm Nasrallah’s death.
Labeling the Israeli strikes as an act of brutality, Khamenei described the attacks as evidence of the “savage nature” of the Zionist regime. He stated that Israel’s actions have exposed its “short-sighted” leadership, which he claimed would only strengthen regional resistance movements. Khamenei reiterated Iran's unwavering support for Hezbollah, promising that the group would emerge stronger in the face of Israeli aggression.
“The Zionist criminals need to know that they are far too weak to inflict any significant damage on the solid structure of Lebanon’s Hezbollah,” Khamenei said in a series of social media posts, vowing continued support for Hezbollah from all resistance forces in the region.
The statement follows an announcement by the Israeli military claiming responsibility for Nasrallah’s assassination in a precision airstrike in southern Beirut. Despite these reports, Hezbollah has not confirmed Nasrallah’s death, creating uncertainty over his fate.
In response, Israel has increased its military readiness, mobilizing additional reserve forces as tensions with Lebanon continue to rise. Lt. Col. Nadav Shoshani, an Israeli army spokesperson, acknowledged that while Israel has severely damaged Hezbollah’s military infrastructure, the group’s missile capabilities remain largely intact, posing an ongoing threat.
