Jammu and Kashmir's Kathua police have released sketches of four terrorists seen in the district's higher reaches, offering a ₹20 lakh reward for actionable information. The region has seen increased terrorist activity recently, including deadly attacks on soldiers and civilians. Prime Minister Modi has vowed to crush terrorism with full force.
In a significant development, police in Jammu and Kashmir's Kathua district have released sketches of four terrorists believed to be operating in the region. According to a statement posted on social media by Kathua Police, the terrorists were last seen in the "higher reaches" of the district, specifically in the areas of Malhar, Bani, and Seojdhar.
The police have announced a reward of ₹20 lakh for anyone providing "actionable information" on the whereabouts of these terrorists, with ₹5 lakh allocated for each individual. The sketches, which were shared on social media, are part of a broader effort to track down these individuals and prevent further terrorist activities in the region.

In recent months, the Jammu region has experienced a surge in terrorist activities. On June 9, a terrorist attack on a pilgrim bus in Reasi resulted in the death of 11 passengers. Subsequent incidents include a July 8 ambush on an Indian Army patrol in Kathua's Machedi, leading to the death of five soldiers, including a Junior Commissioned Officer (JCO). Additionally, on July 15, four soldiers, including a Captain, were killed in an encounter with terrorists in the Desa forests of Doda district.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, during his visit to the Kargil War Memorial on July 26, the 25th anniversary of India's victory in the Kargil War, issued a stern warning to Pakistan, vowing that the Indian military would "crush terrorism with full force." He emphasized that Pakistan's "nefarious intentions" would never succeed, reiterating India's resolve to combat terrorism.
