Kerala Police Arrest Army Jawan, Friend For Faking “PFI” Attack

Kerala Police on Tuesday apprehended an army personnel and his friend for allegedly giving a false statement about six people attacking him and painting the letters “PFI” on his back on Sunday night.


Speaking on the same, the Additional Superintendent of Police (Addl SP) in Kollam


Rural, R Prathapan Nair, shared that the army personnel filed a complaint before the Kadakkal Police Station and during the course of the investigation, it was revealed that his complaint was false.

"On the basis of that, he was arrested today and one of his friends, named Joshi, was also arrested,” he added.


While revealing the reason behind the Army personnel's actions, Nair stated, "He is an Army personnel and wanted national attention in this regard and that after that he will get something from this incident."

He explained that the Army personnel appeared to have fabricated the incident with the intention of obtaining a "suitable posting" for himself.


The Army personnel as well as his accomplice was arrested under sections

153A(Promoting enmity between different groups) and 120B(Criminal conspiracy).
