High drama unfolded in Delhi's Greater Kailash on Saturday when a man threw a liquid at former Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal during his campaign. Security personnel swiftly intervened, overpowering the man, who is reportedly a resident of the area. A video from the incident shows Kejriwal wiping his face while being escorted to safety.

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) condemned the attack, accusing the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of orchestrating it. Delhi minister Saurabh Bharadwaj criticized the BJP-led central government, alleging a breakdown in law and order. “Shootouts, gang wars, and attacks on public figures have become routine under their watch,” Bharadwaj remarked, citing recent violent incidents in the city.

AAP leaders argued that Kejriwal has faced multiple attacks, pointing to previous incidents in Chhatarpur and Vikaspuri. “BJP leaders campaign freely across states without facing such threats. Why is Arvind Kejriwal continuously targeted?” Bharadwaj questioned.

The suspect was taken to a local police station for questioning. Authorities have yet to determine the motive behind the attack.

In a statement, AAP said, “If a former Chief Minister isn't safe in the capital, how can the common man feel secure?” The party urged the central government to take immediate steps to ensure Kejriwal's safety and address rising violence in Delhi.
