The Maharashtra government has launched an official inquiry into the controversy surrounding YouTuber and podcaster Ranveer Allahbadia, following his remarks on the YouTube show India’s Got Latent. The cultural department, led by Minister Ashish Shelar, has been directed to conduct a detailed probe, as per an ANI report.

Allahbadia, known for his BeerBiceps YouTube channel, is facing backlash for comments made during comedian Samay Raina’s now-deleted show. Several complaints have been filed against the show, citing vulgarity and objectionable content. The state government’s action follows growing public outrage and concerns over unregulated content on digital platforms.

Meanwhile, Mumbai Police has summoned Allahbadia for questioning. However, when officers visited his Versova residence, they found the flat locked. The podcaster had earlier requested to have his statement recorded at home, but authorities rejected the request. A second summons has been issued, asking him to appear at Khar police station on Saturday.
