Saurabh Rajput’s mother claimed that her granddaughter knew about his murder, allegedly committed by his wife, Muskan Rastogi, and her lover. Police dismissed the claim but confirmed Muskan’s months-long plot. She manipulated Sahil using a fake Snapchat ID and hid Saurabh’s body in a cement-filled drum. Investigations continue.

The chilling murder of merchant navy officer Saurabh Rajput has taken a new turn, as his mother, Renu Devi, claimed that her six-year-old granddaughter knew about the crime. Rajput was allegedly murdered by his wife, Muskan Rastogi, and her lover, Sahil Shukla, in a gruesome act that involved dismembering his body and sealing it in a cement-filled drum.
Renu Devi has accused Muskan’s parents of concealing their knowledge of the crime. "Muskan’s mother knew about the murder before March 18. They informed the police only to shield themselves from legal trouble," she alleged.
The police, however, dismissed claims that the child had prior knowledge of the murder. According to SP City Ayush Vikram Singh, the girl may have overheard Muskan discussing the crime with family members, leading to her shocking statement: "Papa is in the drum."
Investigations reveal that Muskan had been plotting her husband's murder since November 2023. She allegedly manipulated Sahil, convincing him that his deceased mother had instructed him—through a fake Snapchat account Muskan created—to kill Saurabh.
The crime was meticulously planned. Before Saurabh’s return from London in February, Muskan purchased sedatives and knives, pretending they were for cooking. After the murder on March 4, she and Sahil attempted to dispose of the body but ultimately hid it in a drum.

Muskan reportedly believed that Saurabh’s estranged relationship with his family would delay any suspicion. The victim's family had not spoken to him in two years due to disagreements over his marriage.
Meanwhile, Muskan spent her first night in jail crying and refusing food, according to police sources. Investigations continue as authorities piece together the horrifying details of the crime.
