Pakistani citizen Muhammad Shahzeb Khan, living in Canada, was extradited to the U.S. for plotting a terror attack on a Jewish Center in New York. He allegedly supported ISIS and planned a mass shooting on October 7, 2024. Undercover officers thwarted the plot, leading to his arrest and extradition.

Muhammad Shahzeb Khan, a 20-year-old Pakistani citizen residing in Canada, has been extradited to the United States on charges of plotting a terror attack targeting the Jewish community in New York City. FBI Director Kash Patel confirmed the extradition on Tuesday, describing it as a major development in the ongoing fight against terrorism.
Khan, who also went by the alias Shahzeb Jadoon, was arrested in Canada on September 4, 2024. According to U.S. authorities, he planned to carry out a mass shooting at a Jewish Center in Brooklyn on October 7, 2024 — the one-year anniversary of the Hamas attack on Israel. He allegedly intended the attack as an act of support for ISIS.
Federal officials stated that Khan planned to use automatic weapons to inflict maximum casualties. His plans, however, were disrupted when he unknowingly shared details with undercover law enforcement officers posing as co-conspirators. This allowed authorities to intervene before the plot could be executed.
FBI Director Patel praised the coordinated efforts of U.S. and Canadian agencies that led to Khan’s arrest and extradition. “This case is a stark reminder of the ever-present global threat of terrorism, especially targeting vulnerable communities,” he said. “The FBI will remain vigilant and continue working tirelessly to prevent such threats.”

U.S. Attorney Jay Clayton also emphasized the danger Khan posed, saying the intent was to kill as many members of the Jewish community as possible. The Justice Department confirmed that Khan now faces federal charges for attempting to provide material support to a terrorist organization and conspiracy to commit terrorism.
Khan has now been brought to the U.S. and is set to face trial under American law, marking a significant step in addressing cross-border terror plots.
