The event highlighted extensive government efforts for tribal development.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi's aircraft encountered a technical snag on Friday while stationed at the Deoghar airport in Jharkhand, causing a delay in his scheduled return to Delhi. Officials reported that alternative arrangements for his departure were under consideration. Meanwhile, a no-fly zone was declared over the region as a precautionary measure.
Earlier in the day, PM Modi visited Jamui, Bihar, to commemorate Janjatiya Gaurav Divas on the 150th birth anniversary of tribal icon Birsa Munda. At the event, he participated in cultural activities, including playing a traditional drum and interacting with performers. He also unveiled development projects worth ₹6,640 crore, highlighting the government's focus on tribal welfare.
During his address, Modi emphasized the government's initiatives to uplift tribal communities. He mentioned a fivefold increase in the tribal welfare budget over the past decade, now amounting to ₹1.25 lakh crore. He also spoke about the Dharti Aaba Janjatiya Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan, a program aimed at the holistic development of over 60,000 tribal villages with an investment of ₹80,000 crore.
Reflecting on the significance of the day, Modi recalled last year's visit to Ulihatu, Birsa Munda's birthplace, and expressed pride in launching a year-long celebration of the tribal leader's 150th anniversary. The program witnessed participation from approximately one crore individuals nationwide via digital platforms.
